Found Poem
Monday, June 25th, 2007Summer is over
Back to school we go
My teacher says..
We have forgot everthing!
Hold out your ears so you can hear!
Our mouths just open and close.
Friday should bring some relief.
Summer is over
Back to school we go
My teacher says..
We have forgot everthing!
Hold out your ears so you can hear!
Our mouths just open and close.
Friday should bring some relief.
Presentations were awesome!!! Interactive Boards, we learned about SMART board activities and sites for tutorials and activities to use with students. I was amazed at how many lesson plans there were for K-3. Our school district believes that SMART boards should not start until 4th grade. Graphics, we learned how easy it is to create a comic strip and many wonderful ways to use this in your classroom. They were easy and fun. Audio, was on podcasting. I’ve always wanted to know what that was. We can tape a lesson and have it played on our webpage. Wow! I like this.
Feeling more comfortable. I have created an iMovie, worked on a tutorial for iMovie, brainstormed classroom ideas to use iMovie and iDVD, learned how to create and teach a “found” poem, attempted a “Triad” three voice writing, learned how to create a poster in power point, and worked in my group for our final presentation tomorrow. Finally got my iMovie to work on the lab computer. Yea! This is sooo helpful for next year. We are learning new ideas and being able to create a plan to use them for next year. Wish we could have MaryLee for all new curriculum thrown at us.
What wonderful information! Sites to remember: pics4learning.com, tech4learning.com, edublogs.org, photobucket.com, and proboards. Books I would love to have: For the Good of the Earth & Sun by Heard, 10 Easy Ways to Use Technology in the english Classroom by Firek, and A Writing Kind of Day by Ralph Fletcher. We set up our own, very own Blog today. Wow I am good. I am excited. We created our username by paint strips. I am Intoxicating Grape. How did I come up with that? That’s another story. We posted to our blog, To Blog or Not to Blog. This was a good day. A day full of information that is useful in the classroom and time to develope it. I feel overwhelmed, but positive.
Group work is fun!!!! Thank you MaryLee. Anne and I are working on a iMovie tutorial, an iMovie, and Classroom ideas to use iMovie and iDVD in the elementary classroom. This is what we like to do, but never have time to do during the school year. I am excited about being prepared to teach writing and technology together to start the new year. Thank you again for letting us do this together.
I would love to have a Blog for my classroom so that sutdents could view each weeks happenings or so that parents could see homework. I would love for tehm to be able to post comments, questions, and answers back to me. I feel this would improve the communication between home and school. I don’t want outsiders to be able to comment and I want to be able to monitor what comments are shown on the blog. I am frustrated with SJSD web pages and the difficulty on finding the resources to update. Wish I had a friend who knew how?
